Kolenchery is a town and the easternmost supurb of the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Located on National Highway 49 (NH 49), it is situated around 22 km from the city centre.
St. Peter's and St. Paul's Orthodox Church, Kolenchery is an ancient and historic church at Kolenchery, built by one Thankan of the Kolenchery House in the 6th century. St. Peter's College in the town has conducted botanical research.
Kolenchery was just a hamlet with church, handful of schools and cinema theatre five decades ago. It was known outside as the home of contractors and real estate owners. It is absolutely diverse now; Kolenchery is among those few towns in Kerala, which has made great progress during the near past, whether it is the case of industries, educational institutions or any other concern.
